The hexagon shape was inspiration for the carrier, due to the wide angles allowing for better space utilization. Initially, a tray that could carry multiple produce containers was designed for use by the produce supplier. The focus then shifted to designing a more efficient carrier that would aid both the supplier as well as the consumer.

Working towards the goal of creating a die cut product out of a cereal box requiring no adhesive, variations on types of tabs, proportions, and functional handles were explored. Hexagonal tabs were incorporated into the design as to maintain consistency and be aesthetically pleasing.

The flat pattern creates a convenience for both the supplier and the consumer as it allows for easy storage and space efficiency. Using cereal box material, this product will have been recycled, and with its sturdy form, can also be reused.

Made up of four parts, this carrier is constructed entirely from a single cereal box.

With its structured walls, alternating tabs, and reinforced base, this carrier can hold up to two pounds of product, yet is simple, efficient, and environmentally conscious.

The removable strip of cereal box acts as a label describing the product contained, including the sell by date. This offers flexibility to reuse the carrier for multiple products.

Through the use of hexagonal tabs, no adhesive is needed. It is structurally sound due to the geometry of the pattern, making it versatile .
