about

Graphic Design Internship with Dim Events

My Graphic Design Internship took place remotely over the course of three months during the summer of 2020.

During this time I worked closely with interns from all fields; from photography, to brand management, to social media, and collaborated with them on creating events, media, and other deliverables for clients of Dim Events.

As a result, I accumulated great experience working in groups on projects requiring time management, multi-tasking, analyzing and designing within our client’s individual brands, and going through the process of designing content from brainstorming sessions, to sketches, edits and final renders.

social media

Designed Instagram posts to drive engagement

My main projects revolved around working with a Dim Events client, To Her & Back, on designing their company’s social media and events.

Client mission statement:

“To Her & Back brings together women of different backgrounds, economic and profession to crystallize their inner strengths all while feeling empowered, inspired and uplifted through proven resources and tools to help become their best at every moment in their career.”

Our team of 3 would work on brainstorming branding, event, and social media ideas, reaching out to potential collaborators, pitching event ideas to management, and following through with event promotion through the use of social media posts.

get connected

Created event and designed Instagram promotional posts

“Get Connected” was a virtual Zoom event to be hosted by To Her & Back and feature three panelists.

The event’s goal was to educate viewers on effective networking and how to connect with other professionals, especially during times of separation.

The style of the promotional posts was inspired by some 70’s themes combined with joyful, bright colors.

together apart

Designed pitch deck and Instagram promotional posts

“Together Apart” was a four part video series “designed to connect the LGBTQ+ community during Pride Month, even in a time of physical separation”.

I was part of a group comprised of video editor and PR interns with the job of creating a pitch deck of our event for our clients, as well as Instagram stories promoting our three guests.

Jarrell Scott Barnes

Designed media kit

Jarrell Scott Barnes is a comedian, writer, and actor  from the Chicago area.

One of my individual assignments as a Graphic Design Intern was to create a media kit for Jarrell based on a bio written by one of the PR interns.

The purpose of this media kit is to provide Jarrell with a stylish, sleek presentation to give to clients in order to introduce himself personally and professionally.
